Initially created as an online DVD rental service, Netflix expanded in 2007 and introduced a video streaming service. From “binge-watching” to “Netflix and chill”, it’s undeniable that streaming services are changing not only the way we talk about TV but the way we watch it, too.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve probably heard Riverdale creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, along with Netflix, has rebooted the 90s TV series Sabrina the Teenage Witch. Fans of the original were, understandably, skeptical. After all, it takes skill and a fresh new vision to create a compelling new version of a classic. Heroes must be held onto for they are few and far between. Since 2015, with the release of Daredevil, Netflix has been the champion streamer of all things superhero. Most recently however a shadow has been casted upon them, as Disney’s own streaming service lurks on the horizon and threatens to steal away the Marvel features which have found their home on Netflix.
